The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Volodymyr Lytvyn has held Meeting with the Representatives of the Public Organizations of Afghan War Veterans
During the meeting the issues on social protection of the soldiers-internationalists were discussed. the participants stressed on the importance to fix by the law the aid for the lost Afghan soldiers, in particular that considers pension administration.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared, that during the next Conciliation Council Meeting, he would inform the colleagues on the problems of this category of citizen. "We should break the tradition, according to which each year on the anniversary day of the withdrawal of Soviet Union troops from the territory of Afghanistan we honor the warriors, deliver speeches on the occasion but forget o act", -V. Lytvyn stressed
The participants invited the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to take part in the occasion on the 20th Anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet Union troops from the territory of Afghanistan, that will take place on the twelve of February in Kyiv.
